*Effective Fall 2013 incoming 1st year students tuition includes access to Bar Bri (a California Bar Review provider) materials throughout their education, both online and in hard copy. 

**Additional material fees may be charged to cover the cost of large amounts of photocopied material assigned by an instructor to supplement or substitute in whole or in part for assigned books. These fees will vary with the cost of reproduction.

DEFERRED PAYMENT PLANS

Tuition is due upon registration prior to the beginning of classes, according to the following payment plans:

Plan 1: Payment in full each semester

Plan 2: Installment Plan A (Subject to a $25.00 deferment fee). At the discretion of the school, a student may be permitted to pay as follows:

1/2 Payment due at Registration

1/2 Payment due 30 days after Registration

Plan 3: Installment Plan B (Subject to a $25.00 deferment fee). At the discretion of the school, a student may be permitted to pay as follows:

1/2 Payment due at Registration

1/4 Payment due 30 days after Registration

1/4 Payment due 60 days after Registration

LATE REGISTRATION

Late registration is not allowed except by special permission. A late fee of $25.00 plus $3.00 per day, is assessed any person who registers after dates set for registration for any Fall, Spring or Summer session.

 

DELINQUENT PAYMENTS

If a student on either Plan 2 or Plan 3 fails to make payments on time, a late fee of $3.00 per day will be assessed to the delinquent payment. Students whose accounts are in arrears on November 20th of the Fall Semester, April 20th of the Spring Semester and July 12 of the Summer Session will not be permitted to take examinations. Students with outstanding past due balances will not receive grades, be granted degrees or be issued transcripts.

REFUND POLICY

The student has a right to a full refund of all charges if he/she cancels this agreement prior to or on the first day of instruction. In addition, the student may withdraw from a course after instruction has started and receive a pro rata refund for the unused portion of the tuition and other refundable charges if the student has completed 60% or less of instruction.

Cancellation: If a student cancels a course on or before the first day of instruction the student will receive a refund of 100 % of the amount paid for institutional charges.

Refund After Cancellation Period: If a student withdraws from Cal Northern after the first day of instruction, the student is entitled to a partial refund of tuition until that student has completed 60% of instruction. Up to the point at which 60% of instruction is completed, student will receive a pro rata tuition refund as shown in the following example.

All refunds are made within thirty (30) days of cancellation or withdrawal. If the school cancels or discontinues a course or educational program, the school will make a full refund of all charges.

STUDENT LOANS

Cal Northern School of Law does not participate in TITLE IV funding through the U.S. Department of Education or any other federally-sponsored financial aid program.

VETERANS BENEFITS

Cal Northern School of Law is approved for the training of veterans as outlined in the Code of Federal Regulations and is committed to the Principles of Excellence for Educational Institutions Serving Service Members, Veterans, Spouses, and Other Family Members. Students should consult with the United States Department of Veteran Affairs to ensure their eligibility for these benefits and to obtain their certificate of eligibility letter. Once admitted the law school will submit an enrollment certification to the United States Department of Veteran Affairs.

Internships, independent study and on-line courses are not approvable for the training of veterans.

1. Refund Policy, CFR 21.4255: This school has, and maintains, a policy for the refund of the unused portion of tuition, fees, and other charges in the event the veteran or eligible person fails to enter the course or withdraws, or is discontinued therefrom at any time prior to completion. The amount charged to the veteran or eligible person for tuition, fees, and other charges does not exceed the approximate pro rata portion of the total charges for tuition, fees, and other charges, that the length of the completed portion of the course should bear to its total length.

Note: The maximum non-refundable registration fee allowed by the Veterans Administration is $10.00 for non-accredited schools.

2. Maximum Occupancy: Lectures are limited to 60 students per session. No more than 60 students are enrolled in each graduating class.
